Charlotte Tilbury makeup

I got my first ever Charlotte Tilbury makeup delivery today and was SO EXCITED to give it a try! I’ve been dreaming of buying her makeup for ages and finally decided to go for it on payday. I’ve heard amazing things about the whole Charlotte Tilbury collection and have pawed over the current line through the website, longing to try it myself, for a long time. Now it’s actually here and I can hold it in my hands, I’m both scared and excited at the same time! I’m scared because I don’t want to use it because it’s just SO beautiful, but overly excited because I actually own it and can’t wait to put it on my face.

First of all, I’ll show you the way it arrived and I’ll share with you the moment I opened the box and let out a little excited yelp at seeing the beautiful purple baby wrapping with the Charlotte Tilbury icon sticker and the utterly adorable envelope contacting the order details. The way it’s presented is just exquisite and so impressive!

Then I unwrapped that gorgeous wrapping to find my goodies waiting for me all in, again, beautiful packaging outlining the product and how it was designed on the back in gold script. I savoured the time they were in the boxes (which was short lived because I couldn’t handle the excitement anymore) and read each one individually like a true makeup geek.

I bought:

  • K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Night Crimson
  • Rock ‘N’ Kohl Iconic liquid eye pencil in Barbarella Brown
  • Lip Cheat lipkiner in Savage Rose (GREAT NAME FYI)
  • Light Wonder foundation in Fair 2

After taking everything out of the boxes, the real magic happened. The makeup itself it’s just stunning to look at! It will look incredible on my vanity table and in my makeup bag, but I guess the real test is in how well the makeup actually performs, so I gave it a try, and I filmed it for you to see! (video below)

I also used a few other products just to pull the look together, and I have listed those below for you, in case you want to use any of them. Please excuse how terrible I look without makeup on, I had to show how the makeup really looks on the skin so didn’t want to have a scrap of makeup on before trying it out.

SO, thoughts on my first use. Basically, WOW! The foundation is UNREAL. As you can see in the video, I only used a small amount with no primer, no concealer and no setting powder and the difference in my skin is insane. It covers my blemishes effortlessly and makes me look radiant and soft, but feels light as air. Massive Thumbs up there!

The eyeliner is also brilliant, giving you a liquid eyeliner look in a really soft, easy to use pencil. I didn’t experience any drag while using it and it looked just as good as my favourite liquid eyeliner, just in brown rather than my usual black. Definitely a keeper!

I fell in love with the lip liner as soon as I applied it. It’s soft, easy to use and has a goooorgeous rosey hue which I would probably wear alone as a lipstick if I’m honest.

Finally the Lipstick. I LOVE lipstick and have tonnes of different brands and colours, but I think this one could even rival my favourite Chanel lipstick. Its buildable, soft, suuuuper moisturising and a really stunning colour. I actually ate dinner wearing it to test it out and it was still pretty much fully intact afterwards, with only a little bit of rub off on the centre of my lips where I lick my lips too often haha.

All in all, I am thoroughly impressed with my purchases, and although they were pricey, I think they were totally worth it, and I’ll definitely be investing in more in the future (I’ve already got my eye on 2 more lipsticks and an eye shadow quad, WATCH OUT BANK ACCOUNT!). I hope this helped out a few of you still on the Tilbury fence, and gave others inspiration for your next shopping trip 👌
