Top 4 red lipsticks

It’s Friday 🙌 and to celebrate, I’m going to show you my top 4 favourite red lippies since I love to rock a red lip on a Friday night out.

I don’t know about you, but a red lip makes me feel complete. It can change the whole look of my face and adds a serious punch of attitude and glam to your style. Red is my “go-to” because it just looks so effortlessly stylish and classic.

I have used tonnes of different red lipsticks in the past, ranging from £1-£30, and varying in tone and texture. I have picked out 4 of the best in my opinion, but this is definitely subject to change as there are a few new red lippies on the market now that I really want to try out.

So here we have them!! These are the Top 4 red lippies I regularly use, all for different reasons. I have chosen different shades, textures and styles because I like to change it up with my rouge and I think a little change is good.

First up, Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Red Laquer – this lovely little lipstick is my “daytime” style as it’s more sheer and soft than the others and has a beautiful orangey tone to it which can brighten up your face and add a little pop of colour to your outfit. The moisturising agent in this is great, so you can use it like a tinted balm rather than a full fledged lipstick if you wish.

Next up is the Avon Ultra colour bold lipstick in Ruby Shock – this one is a real surprise contender! It only costs around £4.50 but it’s one that I always come back to because it’s just so good! It’s very bold, very long lasting and comfortable to wear. It delivers a true red which looks exactly as it does in the tube and is super easy to apply thanks to its creamy formula. I also have this lipstick in 3 other colours and all are fantastic!

Chanel Rouge Allure luminous satin lip colour in 99 Pirate – Most people would have seen this lipstick in countless magazines, and it has become a sort of cult product, with good reason. This lipstick is a really luxurious red with blue undertones, making it the perfect lipstick if you want to make your teeth look whiter. It’s very bold and long lasting, but can be a little bit dry, so I wear it with a little bit of lip balm over it. Also, the packaging is TO DIE FOR!

Finally YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À lèvres glossy stain in Rouge Vintage – I can’t praise this lipstick enough! It is a lipstick, stain and gloss in one with a gorgeous glossy sheen and powerful punchy red colour. I use this in the Summer as it’s super light and stays out for hours on end with no need for touch ups thanks to its stain like formula. Plus it’s super moisturising and so comfortable to wear and the packaging is beautiful! I have this in 2 shades but intend to get more.

Close runners up also include:

  • MAC lipstick in Russian Red
  • MAC lipstick in Lady Danger
  • Limecrime Velvetines matte lipstick in Red Velvet

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and would love to hear what your favourite red lipsticks are so I can give them a try and see if this list will change!

Thanks for reading ✌️💄💋
