This is one of Benefits newest offerings and I was SO excited when I watched a video announcing its release this Summer. It’s not just a cute kit full of everything you’ll ever need to banish the dreaded shine, but it contains some amazing exclusive products too.
So let’s get started! First things first, Pore-fessional. This primer is my favourite ever Benefit product, and also the best primer I’ve ever had. It banishes shine, holds makeup on like no other and keeps a matte finish. Plus, you can wear it alone to make your skin look almost “soft-focus”. Then there’s the cult product Dr Feelgood which can be applied to very oily areas of the face to mattify them before applying makeup. It’s like a filler for lines too. On top of this, the handy little pot of The Pore-fessional powder is a new handbag essential as one sweep of the ultra light powder is enough to banish shiny bits. Also to the aid of on the spot shine is the mattifying stick which you just apply to shiny areas and blend. Of course I saved the best part for last… The brand new Shy-beam. This little beauty is currently exclusive to this pallette, but I’m hoping it will become a full size product on its own because it’s AMAZING!! It’s like a matte illuminator. Yes, you read that right! It’s like a matte version of the bestselling High Beam, and it literally goes on as a cream like high beam, but dries matte leaving you with a subtle luminescent glow but without the shine you see with most standard illuminators. I am so impressed with it that I have actually started using it in place of my usual high beam. That’s a pretty big deal.
Overall I think this is a great little kit, and it does everything it says it does. I wouldn’t use all the products together as that could be overkill but using a few at a time and rotating them is definitely a great option. In the hot weather, it’s a godsend for keeping your face shine free and fresh, and I couldn’t be happier with how easy the products are to use. There isn’t anything I don’t like about it in all honesty, the only downside is that there isn’t more Shy Beam in there haha! I fully recommend this set if you suffer from shine, you won’t be disappointed.
