I’m currently on my holiday in Cyprus, enjoying temperatures upwards of 33 degrees. It’s beautiful out here and I’m really enjoying spending time with my girl friends.
When I go on holidays, I have an unwritten rule that I have to get a new holiday perfume and a lipstick on duty free. It’s become a bit of a tradition among me and my friends that symbolises that we’ve started our holiday and when we wear those things when we’re home, we’re reminded of our holiday.
This year, I flew from Stansted which doesn’t have much in the way of duty free shops. But it does have a huge World duty free shop which has concessions from the likes of Dior, Chanel, Benefit, Mac and YSL all at duty free prices. Obviously I was in shopaholic heaven, as you can imagine. I headed for the Perfume section first to sample some of the new summer fragrances and found a few great ones I really liked. I was almost sold on the Calvin Klein Eternity Summer perfume until I smelled the Elie Saab Resort collection. I use Elie Saab L’eau couture perfume on a daily basis now and it’s BEAUTIFUL so I had high hopes for this Summer version. I wasn’t disappointed! It is like summer in a bottle, with notes of coconut, bergamont and vanilla. It’s also very soft and light, not overpowering like some fragrances, yet it lasts all day. Plus the bottle is really pretty, always great bonus. I had a little browse around the other counters, checking out the MAC counter and trying to decide whether I could warrant getting another foundation even though I already have 3 to choose from. But I ended up getting my holiday lipstick from YSL. I have been eyeing up the “Babydoll” range by YSL since its release and fell head over heels in love with the Lip and cheek Stain in colour 05. It’s a rich coral/pink colour with red undertones. I tested it out just to be sure I loved it as much on as I do in the tube and fell in love more. The colour is solid, punchy and full of attitude, and the formula is silky soft but with a matte style finish. I have yet to try it on my cheeks but I imagine the colour will be pretty amazing there too.
I’m going back to the poolside now to enjoy the last of the day’s sunshine, but I’ll be back with another post soon. Have a great week!
