Stylist Live

Today I went to “Stylist Live”, a show arranged by Stylist magazine in London.

My best friend got me a ticket for my birthday, and we decide to go to the last day of the 4 day show. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Edith Bowman, giving us a free Stylist bag and a voucher for free champagne. Pretty amazing start! We got stuck into the champers and headed up to the main floor where there were shopping stalls, a stage for demonstrations and areas to get treatments.

After getting a quick picture, we headed up to a talk by Jody Shield on the management of anxiety. It was a brilliant session, bringing everyone together to talk about anxiety and ways to tackle it properly. We ended the session with a group meditation and headed back out into the main floor area. On our way through, we picked up some lovely freebies and vouchers from a Pukka Tea, Rituals and Oliver Bonas.  Claris had a pop up stall offering a skincare and makeup consultation, and I jumped at the chance as my skin has been a nightmare over the last week or so. The lovely lady gave me a skin check, and picked products that would work for my needs and demonstrated how they work. She then emailed me a personalised skincare regime with all the products that would suit my skin, which was a lovely touch! The products were amazing, so I may consider giving them a go. Just before I swooned off to the rest of the stalls, I was given a a box of free Clarins Samples, including the luxurious night oil, BB cream and cleanser. Woohoo!!

We also spoke to the lovely lady at Bean Burst, a newbie to the skincare world. They use coffee beans and essential oils to create a natural, energising cleanser/scrub that promises to refresh, cleanse, moisturise and is full of antioxidant goodness. They smell UNREAL, so we had to give them a go. Luckily they did a gift box with all 3 varieties inside so we bought one together and shared out the sachets between us (review to come soon). Then it was lunch time, and Sophia had done her research and found out Annie Mae’s Mac and Cheese stand would be there, so we headed up to “Feast Street” to check it out. Now, if you love Mac and cheese like us, you would love these guys! They make unbelievable Mac and cheese in different varieties and even have their own book dedicated to al the ways you can eat Mac and Cheese! Heaven!!

After lunch, we took our seats at the catwalk show, giving us a taste of the best looks for Autumn/winter. It was a amazing show, full of colour, sequins and beautiful lace, not to mention the incredible models! I got some great inspiration, and I’ll definitely be heading out to get some of the staple pieces.

Then we headed to “Little Ondine” a new nail polish brand, using natural products to create a diverse, beautiful polish with no scent and easy peel off removal! What’s not to love about that? I got 4 of their coloured polishes and a top coat to try out, and will be doing a review on them shortly. Finally, we watched a NARS demonstration, showing how to do a wet look smokey eye and intense berry lip, which was incredible. I’ll definitely be trying out their smokey eye for my next night out.

On our way out, we checked out how Stylist magazine is made, from covers, which you got an oppertunity to design yourself, features, past celebrities, the editorial process and how the styles are chosen for each issue. It was fascinating to see the work behind the magazine, and how they create such a great magazine in just a week turnover.

Sadly, that was the end of our day, and we headed out feeling great! I had a fabulous day out, and I’m so impressed with the way Stylist magazine organised and ran the event. It ran beautifully, had loads to do and was an all round brilliant day. WELL DONE, STYLIST, you nailed it!
