I went to the “Stylist live” event, organised by Stylist Magazine on Sunday (see my post from Sunday) and got a chance to look around stalls showing off new and innovative products. I stumbled across the Bean Burst stall and was instantly drawn In. I assumed they were selling coffee, maybe flavoured coffee or a new “beauty blend”, but was surprised to find it was in fact skincare. The lovely lady there asked if we’d heard of the brand before and talked us through this new product. Basically, it’s skincare made from coffee beans, and I was a bit freaked out initially in all honesty. But the lady assured us that it was an amazing product, and my curiosity got the best of me, so I bought it.
Bean Burst say:

So, what is it really like? Well I got the gift set which includes all 3 scents available, Orange, Grapefruit and Peppermint. The orange and grapefruit ones smell INCREDIBLE, I’m still yet to be sold on the peppermint variety, but I think it will grow on me. They come in little paper sachet style bags with a resealable top to keep the product inside dry.
The actual scrub looks like ground coffee and is a bit daunting, but smells lovely! Once adding a bit of water it turns into a light paste and you can rub it onto your skin. I can be used on both face and body as it’s very gentle and is full of essential oils. I decided to try it out on both, starting with my face, moving in circular motions and then moving onto my body. I only needed the smallest amount to cover my whole body which is great and it felt really nice on my skin. I left it on for a few minutes to let the oils and caffeine do their work, then rinsed off and patted my skin dry.
So, what did I think? Honestly, I was so impressed! I have sensitive skin and I usually struggle with scrubs as they make my skin red, dry and usually quite rashy after drying off, but this one was different. My skin looked glowy, and felt really soft and hydrated. The essential oils in the scrub left enough moisture that I didn’t need to use body lotion and the feeling lasted until the next morning which is amazing! I’ve also been struggling with a breakout on my jawline recently and that has pretty cleared within 2 days of using the scrub.
I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed and I will definitely be getting some more of this when my current bags have run out, though that could be a while as one small bag can last up to 4 weeks if used 2-3 times a week! Amazing value. I fully recommend giving it a try and I’d love to know what you think too! Check out their website below!
