Little Ondine nail polish review

I was introduced to Little Ondine, like most of my recent product reviews, at Stylist Live. They had a pop up manicure bar and a stall selling their polishes. Being a nail polish lover, I was in there like a shot!

Little Ondine say:

Composed of natural resin, organic colourants and water. We’ve sourced the best minerals from around the world to bring you a pure organic colour that give it a smooth texture while hydrating your nails.

The natural ingredients caught my attention straight away, as I try to use naturally sourced products as much as I can. The idea that it is healthy for your nails is also a big seller in my eyes. So, I decided to buy a few and see how it went.

The bottles are cute, easy to store and hold a lot of product. I spotted 4 colours I loved straight away and got all 4. A lovely blue called Pacific, a neutral beige colour called Sweet Liquor, a neutral pink called Cuddle and a deep red called Red, Red Wine; and a clear base coat.

I have realised since purchasing that these are no usual nail polishes. They are very different to what I’m used to. First of all, they are completely odourless. I mean COMPLETELY, it’s incredible! The formula is also much thicker than standard nail polish as it dries to a gel like layer on your nails. It requires 2 or 3 coats pretty quickly as the surface level dries fast. Also, if you get any on your skin, you have to remove it immediately, because if it dries, it could pull the whole nail of paint off. But once on, it’s like a gel layer that looks really nice. When you want to take it off, you don’t need to use nail varnish remover either! You just put your nails in warm water, push the side of the nail and literally peel the colour off!! It’s amazing!!

I have used the blue and dark red already and loved the finish, but I did find it quite difficult to get all the polish off my skin before it dried. If I left the tiniest amount on my skin and it dried, if I tried to remove it after, it peeled the whole nail colour off. I think it will take some time to get used to it and do it right, but I really love the concept and the way the polish works! A must have if you want to keep it natural.
