It has been so cold this weekend in London, giving us a (very chilly) hint that Winter is officially here. Not a fan. So, since the cold weather is set to stick around for a while, it’s time to bust out the knitwear and get cosy!
For me, buying knitwear is a nightmare! I’m allergic to wool, cashmere, angora and mohair (annoying, right?) which means most knitwear on the market is a no-go for me. It SUCKS! This year especially, I have really struggled to find nice, fashionable jumpers that don’t contain those materials. It got me thinking that other people must surely be having the same issues, so I thought it would be great to share some of the best acrylic and cotton jumpers I have found on the market.
I wasn’t just looking for any old jumpers though, they have to wearable, stylish and most of all WARM. So, here’s what I found…
First up, we have this lovely little offering from Mango. These jumpers are super soft, cosy and slightly longer length, so they will keep you warm while still being very simply stylish. I would wear mine tucked into a printed skirt or with skinny jeans, a statement scarf and great ankle boots.
Cream textured jumper – £19.99; Light heather grey jumper – £29.99
Next, Topshop. A lot of Topshop’s Winter 2015 knitwear is wool based, so it was quite hard to find jumpers that didn’t contain it, and still looked good. However, I found these beauties lurking amongst the pack. The stripe roll neck is beautifully fitted, and would look fantastic with a tight black skirt and heels for an evening look, or with super highwaisted jeans and boots for a more daytime feel. The second is a longer length, cream funnel neck jumper with a swing style cut. It’s loose and floaty, but still looks really classy and chic. I would wear it with leather skinny trousers and heeled boots.
Stripe roll neck – £28; Cream swing jumper – £38
Reiss is a more high-end high street brand, but they do have some beautiful winter pieces currently. This jumper is not only thick and warm, but it would also work for an evening look due to the beautiful beading to the front. Its a real head turner, I think I may save up for this one!
Beatrix jumper – £120
H&M have a huge knitwear collection right now, ranging from basic roll necks to glamorous beaded styles. This pick is somewhere between the two. It’s a classic roll neck shape, with a chunky knit and longer length to keep it wearbale, but has a beautiful metallic sheen to it due to a metallic threading knitted in. It catches the light beautifully, and transforms your outfit from basic, to brilliant!
Metallic jumper – £29.99
This assymetric style jumper is very unusal, and I love it! it’s a classic funnel neck style, but with the biased cut at the hem giving it a really modern look. I would wear it with leather shorts, thick tights and a boots.
Funnel neck jumper – £36
This beaded Oasis sweater is very simple, easy to wear and glamourous. Keep it simple with a pair of high waisted jeans, heeled boots and a blazer for effortless style.
Woven Back necklacke top – £28
Finally, ZARA. I actually bought this jumper a couple of weeks ago and ADORE it. Its chunky knitted, slightly cropped and absolutely beautiful on. I wear it with with my high waisted denim skirt and boots, but it is really easy to dress up.
Roll neck sweater – £29.99
