I confess, I’ve been raiding Boots yet again! This time, I was searching for some new makeup bits as my skin has been a bit of a nightmare and I’m in serious need of coverage, but didn’t want to break the bank. Luckily, there were lots of offers on in Boots recently, so I managed to bag a truck load of stuff for under £40. Nice. So what did I buy?
First of all, I grabbed the Real Tecniques Brush cleaning palette as it was FINALLY a back in stock! Of course I had to try it straight away, and loved how clean my brushes were after. There are a couple of sachets of their brush cleanser inside too, and it’s lovely, so I’ll get that next time I spot it. The different gradient of textures on the palette makes cleaning brushes an absolute doddle! Love it!
I also raided the Collection stand, and grabbed their Lasting Perfection foundation in Ivory 2, and the matching concealer in light. I’ve used them a few times already and actually love them! The coverage is great, and it doesn’t feel heavy or cakey. The longevity is also pretty great too, and the foundation has the added benefit of SPF 20 too. Not bad for a £5.99!
I also picked up the Naturally Matt foundation too, simply because I was interested to know how matte it is. Surprisingly, it’s a pretty good foundation, giving great coverage and a lightweight feel. I would say it’s more Demi matte as it looks pretty fresh but does have a matte finish.
Also from Collection, I bought the Speed Blush sticks in pink and coral. They are chunky twist up sticks, a bit like the cult NARS multiple. The colour is punchy, but sheer and gives a lovely wash of flower colour to the cheeks. To match, I also got the Lip Butter crayon in 3 – Vintage Rose. I ADORE this lip crayon. Honestly, it’s amazing! Super moisturising, bold highly pigmented colour and comfort on the lips. What more could you want?
Finally, I bought some Soap and Glory bits as they were having a bit of a sale. I picked up the Kick Ass Concealer, which I’ve had before and really liked, to pop into my handbag on the go. It’s got 2 layers in the compact, the bottom being 2 varied coloured concealers to mix, and a handy mirror; and the top with a translucent powder and sponge to apply it with. It’s a great cover up, and really works well. I also got the Archery eyebrow pencil which I’m so inlove with! It’s got the tiniest little wind up pencil at one end, making drawing defined hairs an absolute doddle, and a spooley at the other to soften the lines. It has given me the most natural looking brows EVER, and it was only £8!
It’s safe to say, I had a very successful shopping trip, and didn’t spend a fortune. Proud shopper moment 🙋🏻
