I’ll start by apologising for not posting anything in a while. Between having a horrendous cold and being super busy with work, I’ve also been having a bit of a brain fart. You know when you jus don’t have any inspiration and don’t know what to write about? Yep, that’s me right now. It probably doesn’t help that my skin has been bloody awful recently due to stress and being ill so I’ve not felt overly beautiful or inspiring myself haha! But anyway, I thought I’d share with you my updated everyday makeup routine since it has had a bit of a change around again with some surprising new entries! Let’s get to it…
As you can see, a lot of Drugstore items this time! The drugstore brands have pulled it out of the bag recently, and I’ve been loving them! They’re not only cheap, but the quality is actually great. Very impressed.
So, I’ve been swapping between 2 bases recently depending on how bad my skin is. I use the Garnier BB cream in Very Fair when my skin feels a little bit dry, but doesn’t need too much coverage since it’s quite sheer and light, but I swap to the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation in Fair 2 on days when my skin is misbehaving because it’s much more full coverage. I’be really been enjoying this foundation actually, it’s so good for such a low price, and it has SPF 20 which is pretty awesome. With both of these, I don’t feel the need to use setting powder as they both dry Demi-matte. I finish off covering any blemishes with the Colection Lasting Perfection concealer in 1 which is AMAZING! It’s only £2.99, but it covers everything, and doesn’t dry cakey. It’s actually overthrown my favourite Naked Concealer!
After applying my base, I use the Burberry WarmGlow powder 03 applied to my high spots, like my cheek bones, top of my forehead, down my nose and on my chin to create a really light warm glow and add a healthy radiance to my whole face. This stuff is amazing and it really makes your skin feel silky smooth. I put this baby on every day and it stays on like a champ! If I feel like I need a little bit more warmth or definition, I pop on the Burberry Contour Stick 01 under my cheekbones and anywhere I feel I need a little bit of defining. It adds a natural looking warmth and definition without looking like I’m wearing any makeup! I then finish off with the Burberry Natural Glow Highlighter Pen on my cheekbones and in the corner of my eyes for a pop of natural light!
Onto my cheeks, and I’ve been sticking to coral pinks recently, because I feel like they lift my skin tone and work really well against the warmth of the bronzer. I’m really enjoying the BareMinerals mineral blush in Cheerful as it’s very sheer, but offers a lovely wash of colour and a very subtle sheen which brightens up my face really nicely. If I’m feeling a bit more of a cream texture though, I go for the Collection Speedy Blush stick in Rose, which is a bit more of a muted rosey pink. This one applies so quickly and easily due to its stick applicator, and blends beautifully!
I’ve been having a great month with my brows since discovering the Soap and Gliry Archery eyebrow pencil, which has a teeny tiny pencil in one end and a spooley in the other. The little pencil allows me to draw in teeny hairs to fill my brows rather than just filling with a solid colour, so they look really natural but also defined. Bingo! My eyes have been kept very simple a lot with my brows. I have been loving my Makeup Revolution Palette in Nudes which has all the neutral colours I need. Unfortunately 2 of the colours broke in the palette, but I have been favouring the matte vanilla shade and the matte taupe daily. They are the perfect neutral shades to add just a wash of colour and open up my eyes. I add a slick of my trusty Smashbox Limitless waterproof liquid liner to define my eyes the. Finish off with the BareMinerals Lash Domination mascara in Black which I only have a sample of at the moment, but I’ll be buying the full size one because it’s BRILLIANT! It really defines and volumises my lashes without drying them out.
For my lips, I’ve been enjoying a pink hue for the spring. My 2 favourites are the Collection Moisturising Lip Butter in 02 which is a lovely warm pinky coral shade with a huge dose of moisture, and the B Natural Lipstick in Eton Mess; which is a bright summery pink with a moisturising formula and lightweight feel.
Finally, I add a spritz of Givenchy Dahlia Divin, which has a soft sweetness and a really lovely warmth to it. It makes me feel really put together.
I also changed my hair recently too! I fancied a new look going into spring so I went Auburn! What do you think?
