Is it me or has May literally just disappeared infront of our eyes? I hardly feel like I lived through May 2016! Anyway, in this blur of a month, I have a few new and old favourites to share with you, all of which have been brought out time and time again this month.
Let’s get cracking!
I’m getting started on body products this time, as I have 3 this month! It’s kind of that Inbetween cold and warm weather in London currently, and choosing what to wear has become a challenge. It’s finally warm enough to wear dresses and skirts without tights, but the lack of sunshine means my skin is still pasty white and kind of dry. So these 3 products have been a saviour recently! The Yes to carrots body lotion Is a very light, fast absorbing lotion which has no strong scents and dries to a matte finish, perfect for layering under the other 2 products. Once I have applied this and let it dry, I apply the wonder product Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. If you haven’t read my review on this product yet, I really urge to do so, it’s genuinely brilliant! It covers all the marks, bruises and veins on my legs and adds a light glow making wearing dresses super easy. For my arms and body, I’ve been loving the Sanctury spa wonder body which is a light lotion with a subtle tint and illuminating pigments. It brightens up the skin effortlessly and makes it look perfected without any effort.
Haircare next, and I’ve become a huge fan of the Superdrug Colour Performance hair colour, which is a cruelty free option with a serious colour output. I have been favouring an auburn colour recently, and this hair dye creates a gorgeous auburn colour even on my dark brown hair. The second favourite is an old favourite of mine, the Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow It hair cream. It’s the best hair cream for taming frizzy, unruly hair and creating a soft and sleek finish. I actually prefer to use it before blow drying rather than leaving my hair to dry naturally, and it leaves my hair feeling really soft and frizz free.
There’s a couple of beauty bits I’ve been enjoying this month, the first being an old favourite again. I’ve really been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder foundation again recently. The light, illuminating formula is so effortless to apply and instantly brightens the skin leaving it looking flawless. I’ve also found a new favourite liquid eyeliner, which is quite a shock to me! Meet the Alexa Chung for Eyeko liner pen, which is a super easy to use liquid liner pen that creates a perfect line every single time! I’ve tried it with a thin line, and a thick line, and it’s literally so easy to use and lasts all day. LOVE IT! When the day is over, I’ve been cleansing with the REN Evercalm cleansing milk which is a super gentle, creamy cleanser with no additives or parabens. It’s superb for sensitive skin like mine, and leaves my skin feeling soft, moisturised and fresh.
You may have seen the Real Teachniques brush cleansing palette In my favourites before, but it’s back for a second turn because I just love it so much!! It effortlessly cleans my brushes gently and really saves me time. Lastly on my beauty list is the NYX butter gloss lip gloss In Angel Food cake which is a beautiful pinky nude shade. I’ve literally used this every day this month because the formula is just so moisturising, soft and wears beautifully! It’s great to find a gloss that isn’t sticky, and doesn’t slide off.
This month I have been obsessed with crisp white cotton and linen. When the weather warms up, I just gravitate towards white and this year has been no different. I’ve been especially loving Broderie Anglaise recently, and picked up these beauties while holiday shopping. Long sleeve Broderie anglaise top – TU at Sainsburys (Sold Out online), sleeveless top – New Look, elastic shorts – Hollister. I also picked up a backpack this month as I decided to give my right shoulder a rest from shoulder bags for a while. I got this beautiful black faux leather backpack from Asos, and it is perfect for carrying around all my daily necessities.
My final favourite for the month is this trendz portable iPhone charger. This cute, compact charging bank holds 2 full charges and comes with a mini lightening cable to easily charge your phone on the go. It’s so small and light it can be chucked into a handbag for emergency charging on the go, and the beautiful design makes it all the more amazing!
So, another month over, and in June I will be going away on holiday so will have a whole new wardrobe to show you! Watch this space…
