Perricone MD No Makeup Makeup review

I’m going to dive right in and say HOLY GRAIL PRODUCTS ALERT!!

Now, you should all know by now how much I love a natural looking foundation with extra benefits, and while scouring the Internet for a new foundation I came across these little gems! I have sensitive, combination skin so I’m pretty choosey with my foundations. I spotted this one on a forum about great foundations for sensitive skin, and was kind of put off by the price at first, until I did some research and found all the incredible feedback it had.

So I bought the No Foundation Foundation and the No Concealer Concealer, named as such because they are actually more like skincare than makeup. Dr Perricone created a world leading skincare brand with products that are coveted in the skincare world for their skin morphing abilities, so he decided to put the same great skincare into makeup.

I’ll start off with the foundation. I went for the original version which is for normal-dry skin, but there is a serum version for normal-oily skin. I comes in a beautiful little glass bottle with a separate pump attachment, making it easy to travel with. It’s only a small bottle but there is alot of product in there so I feel like this will last me a long time.

On first use, the consistency of the product was much like sun cream, in that it’s thick yet quite runny, and it actually smells like sun cream too! The instructions advice to apply with fingertips so the product melts into the skin with the heat. I have tried it with a brush and my fingertips and the fingertips definitely do create a nicer finish. After blending into my skin, the product basically disappears. It’s crazy! You cannot see a single trace of it on the skin, even when looking super close up. It’s like a photo filter has been applied, but no one can see the evidence!

Now, it’s not a full coverage foundation by any means. This would definitely fall under the tinted moisturiser category, as it provides a sheer wash of colour and a blurring effect to imperfections, but a concealed would be needed for blemishes.

But what really impressed me about this glorious product, is that it comes with SPF 30 as standard and is full of skin loving, anti aging goodies that actually make your skin better as you wear it. I have been using this daily for a few weeks now and the overall texture and look of my skin has really improved. My skin looks brighter, smoother and more glowy than it did before and I didn’t even have to faff around with night creams or crazy face masks. I really love this product, and it is fast becoming a spring/summer essential!

What can I say about this concealer other than I LOVE it?! I have honestly never owned such a brilliant under eye concealer in my life, and wonder how I ever lived without it. So this is much like the foundation in that its more like skincare than makeup. The applicator is flawless, giving all of the control with no mess or fuss. The product is a mixture of skin improving anti aging ingredients with natural goodies to actually help skin to regenerate and repair while wearing, and the added SPF 35 ensures the delicate skin under my peepers is protected.

I have been using this for 3 weeks now, and can honestly say it is a holy grail product. It has not only improved the darkness under my eyes, but it has also helped the redness in the skin on my eyelids too, really brightening it up and making me look more awake. I have also noticed the skin around my eyes is much more hydrated and firmer too, all while the light tint in this wonder product hides any trace of a late night or a few too many cocktails.

I think these products are a must have for any makeup enthusiast, simply because they really do work, and they actually improve your skin while you wear them. The added high SPF included is brilliant, and really saves us a lot of time and aggro putting on suncream which can cause skin problems. The concealer hoes everywhere with me now, and I really cannot sing its praises enough.
