My beauty routine constantly rotates based on the weather, how my skin is acting and how I’m feeling. Everything from my skincare to my makeup is constantly changing, though there’s a few staple products that have stuck around for many moons because they are just SO GOOD!
Here’s a rundown of my current beauty routine and the products I use.
I try to keep my skincare as basic as possible because using too many products really clogs my skin and makes me break out. I love products formulated for sensitive skin because they are so gentle on the skin, but still super effective. Currently I wash my skin with the super gentle LUSH Angels on Bare skin cleanser. It’s a totally natural, organic cleanser filled with goodies like oats and lavender to sooth and nourish the skin while gently removing dirt and impurities. After cleansing, I moisturise with First Aid Beauty Daily Moisturiser. With it’s super light but nourishing formula, it creates a superb base for makeup and also packs a punch of goodness into the skin with skin loving ingredients. In the evenings, I remove my makeup 2 different ways. I alternate between using the cult favourite Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Cleanser, which removes the days ickiness in a really gentle, soothing formulation. I just smooth the cleanser on then wipe off with the muslin cloth to reveal beautiful soft, clean skin. Its so simple and easy to use, and really does work! If I’m being lazy, I’ll use the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads which have an exfoliating texture on one side and great formula which moisturises and cleans the day away effortlessly, and my eye makeup is whisked away with the Superdrug Vitamin E eye makeup remover lotion. For a skin treat, I use Kiehls Rare Earth deep pore cleansing mask twice a week. Its a clay based, creamy face mask packed full of sea minerals to draw out deep set impurities and reveal glowing, clear skin. I love this because it doesn’t dry to flaky, tight finish like most clay masks, it’s actually very elastic and feels comfortable on the skin. For little break outs, I rely on the magic powers of the Organics spot treatment gel which acts super fast to clean and heal blemishes, leaving my skin lovely and clear when I need it most.
I’ve been keeping my makeup pretty simple recently, focusing quite a bit on getting a glowing complexion and defined eyes with simple lips. Currently I use my Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation for days I want a little extra coverage, as it really creates an airbrushed look effortlessly. For days I don’t need so much coverage, I turn to the Perricone MD No foundation foundation because it so easily creates a dewy, blurred look and has the added benefit of SPF 30, great for pale girls like me!! For extra coverage, my go to is the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. This cheap and cheerful little beauty effortlessly covers imperfections and lasts all day. BARGAIN. For under eyes I use the Perricone MD No concealer concealer, which again has SPF 35 and a beautiful illuminating finish with the added benefit of anti aging goodies.
To add some colour to my fair complexion, I’ve been really enjoying using the Bare Minerals Ready bronzer in light. It’s a warm but light shade, adding just a hint of glowing colour to the high points of my face. I like to use it to add a little warmth rather than an all out bronzed look. To my cheeks, I’ve been using the universally loved NARS blusher in Orgasm. This blusher didn’t get its reputation for nothing, it really is the most flattering blusher I’ve ever used, and adds a subtle pop of colour and sheen to my cheeks making me look more refreshed.
For eyes, I’ve been using the Revolution eye palette in Naturals I got for Christmas. As you can see, the nude/cream shade gets a lot of use because it is the most natural looking shadow I’ve found in a long time, and the powder is so finely milled, it is a dream to use! I add a flick of Eyeko Eye do liquid liner pen to add definition and finish off with my favourite Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I absolutely love this mascara! It’s so quick and easy to use and creates big, fluttery lashes with no effort at all. Finally, I comb through my eyebrows with the Benefit Gimme Brow gel which I got free with an eyebrow wax a few months ago and it’s still half full! It is a great little brow gel, adding definition, a hint of colour and tiny fibres to the news making them look a bit fuller.
On my lips, I have been absolutely OBSESSED with the NYX butter gloss lip glosses. I currently have 3 shades, Angel Food Cake, Tiramasu and Strawberry Shortcake. They are just so lovely to use! They are light, really moisturising and add a good amount of colour without any stickiness. I’ve been wearing Tiramasu religiously this week, because I just love the pinky-beige shade and it really lifts my complexion.
