Homemade guacamole 

I’m a huge guacamole devotee. There, I said it. I am that person who goes to Chipotle and pays £3 extra for triple guac on my burrito bowl, so making my very own quac at home is a much more cost effective alternative! 


So here’s my quick and easy recipe for homemade guacamole that gives you all the flavour and minimum cost, and you can seal it in a container and keep it in the fridge for up to 7 days. 

What you will need 

  • 2 x ripe avocados
  • 1 x ripe tomato 
  • 1/2 red onion 
  • 1/2 lime juice 
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 Coriander stems
  • 1 small chilli

Get started by halfing your avocados, de-stoning them and scooping out the filling. Cut it into strips and throw into a bowl. Use a potato masher to mash the avocado into a chunky paste and set aside. Dice the red onion, tomato and coriander (including stalks) into tiny pieces and add to the avocado. De-seed a chilli and dice, then add to the mixture.  Squeeze the juice of half a lime into the mixture and add a dash of salt and pepper to finish. Now just mux together and enjoy! 

Simple, and oh so yummy! 👌🏼 

If I have any left overs, I create a burrito lunch jar by packing layers of the burrito ingredients into a mason jar and simply pouring into a bowl and reheating or warming a tortilla wrap and pouring the contents in. It’s a really simple trick for lunches!
