New purchases

I’ve been really into flawless glowing skin recently. I had a long period of being obsessed with a bold lip, but now I’m more concerned with having a really solid base and a fresh, flowing complexion. With that need in mind, I bought a few new bits to make sure my skin looks in tip top shape, and stays healthy too.

Bare Minerals have had made some huge releases this year, with their new skincare range and multiple new beauty essentials, 1 of which is the Invisible Light powder compact. This lovely little compact has 2 powders inside, one of which is a mattifying powder, and the other an illuminating shimmer powder. I’ve now used this powder for about 2 weeks and I absolutely LOVE it! The mattifying powder does exactly what it says on the tin, but it also leaves my skin looking luminous and glowy unlike some mattifying powders which can make me look chalky and flat. The ultra finely milled powders apply beautifully and look really natural and fresh. The highlighter powder is also incredible. It’s a very light, subtle shimmer which can be used in one area or dusted all over the face for a “lit from within” glow. I use it as a subtle highlight on my cheekbones and brow bones daily, but have used it all over for an evening out. Plus, being mineral powder, it is great for my skin and will help to protect it from the elements.

I finally decided to buy the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue tinted moisturiser after toying with the decision for months. This product has recieved 3000+ 5 star reviews online for its great formula and skin improving ingredients, so I took the plunge to find out what all the fish is about. Now, this is a tinted moisturiser so I knew it wouldn’t be great for coverage, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it blurred imperfections while still looking like skin. It looks really dewy and natural on the skin, and the skin loving ingredients promise to improve the look and texture of skin with continued use. I have to agree that it does! After 2 weeks of day to day use, my scars are actually fading and the overall look of my skin has improved. Great stuff for daily use while its warm out, but I think I would like something with a little more coverage come the colder Autumn days.

I finally replaced my Urban Decay Naked Concealer after I lost the first one on a night out (I was devastated!). This is still my favourite concealer EVER, just because the coverage is phenomenal and the formula is really elastic so it moves with the skin to ensure there are no cracks or creases. Plus, it doesn’t dry out like most other liquid concealers and lasts literally all day! Amazing stuff!
